Lucky Air Breaks Low Fare Record in China
Sep. 25, 2006
Lucky Air, a subsidiary of Hainan Aviation Group - the parent company of Hainan Airlines, has announced the airline sets to offer limited super low fare one-way tickets priced at 68 yuan each (exclusive of taxes and levies) on its Kunming-Chengdu services between 26th and 28th September.
According to the airline, Lucky Air will release around 20 one-way tickets priced at 68 yuan each (exclusive of taxes and levies) per flight, which roughly equals to one-seventh of all revenue seats available on a flight between Kunming and Chengdu.
According to Chinese media reports, the 68 yuan one-way fare equals to about 10% of the full Economy Class fare on Kunming-Chengdu route, and this marks the lowest ever discount ticket fare offered by a mainland Chinese airline carrier. Right now, the most heavily-discounted one-way fare of most other Chinese airlines operating on the route is about 390 yuan (exclusive of taxes and levies).
