Air Charter Company to Launch in Australia

An Australia-based air charter company called SkyAirWorld is expected to take to the skies next year.
SkyAirWorld chief executive officer David Charlton said the company would initially have three aircraft and 75 staff when it began operations from its Brisbane base in May.
Mr Charlton said SkyAirWorld would cater to the mining and resource sector, tourism and specialist charter markets, with scope to expand.
Its fleet of Brazilian Embraer 170 and 190 aircraft, known as E-Jets, would seat 76 and 100 passengers respectively.
Mr Charlton said he expected the company to have a "small impact" on competition when it entered the aviation charter market.
"The market for charter aviation is growing in Australia and we are looking to fill some of those growing and unfulfilled niches," he said.
"There are a couple of sectors (we are targeting) such as mining and resource sector projects to Western Australia and PNG (Papua New Guinea).
"There is a very strong tourism focus - we can fly to places in the outback that other similar aircraft cannot, as well as fly out to the Pacific Nations."
Mr Charlton said the new E-Jets were fuel-efficient and comfortable compared to existing aircraft, with the ability to fly further, faster, and from shorter runways.
