Airport Security Stepped Up in Nepal

Nepal has stepped up security at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) following Indian media reports that terrorists may attempt to hijack plane flying to or out of Kathmandu.
Ram Karna, manager at the Terminal Management Division of the TIA, told Xinhua that security has been tightened since last night when the news related to possible plane hijack was flashed.
"We are also holding an emergency meeting of TIA officials on Wednesday noon to discuss about the possible measures to be taken to ensure better security of planes in the TIA," he said.
Indian media reported on Tuesday that India had stepped up security at 13 airports, including Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow and Patna after intelligence inputs warned of possible terrorists attempt of hijacking.
