1,700 Air New Zealand Jobs Under Threat

Nearly 1,700 Air New Zealand jobs are under threat, with the company again considering the outsourcing of staff - this time in its airport services division.
The airline says it needs to become more competitive; those affected are baggage, check-in and runway workers in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
The airline has already explored the option of outsourcing in other areas; but a union deal this year saved the jobs of some engineering staff.
