Nov. 30, 2006
A laid-off worker in China's Anhui Province recently donated a jet aeroplane he made himself to the local science museum.
Hang also known as "the aeroplane madman" by local people started learning how to make aeroplanes when he was a teenager in 1984.
Over the past 10 years, Hang spent tens of thousands of yuan to successfully invent a pipe-structured aeroplanes, which dramatically cut production costs and won him a State patent.
As the only individual exhibitor, Hang was invited in early November to display a model of the jet aeroplane, which is 7.1 metres long and 2.9 metres tall, at the 2006 Zhuhai Air Show.
