MAS, ANA Expand Code-sharing Agreement
Dec. 03, 2006
The code-sharing agreement between Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) has been expanded to cover two additional routes, MAS said on December 3.
The two additional routes are Tokyo-Kota Kinabalu and Osaka-Kota Kinabalu, MAS Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Idris Jala said in a statement.
"MAS and ANA have enhanced the existing code-share agreement effective Dec. 1, and under the new arrangement, ANA now has direct access to the seats inventory on all MAS flights between Japan and Malaysia," he said.
MAS now operates 14 weekly return services between Kuala Lumpurand Tokyo while two return services are operated from Kota Kinabalu.
Idris said since the code-share cooperation between MAS and ANA began in 2004, it has seen a steady increase of passenger contributions by ANA.
"This is very encouraging and we hope to attract more Japanese tourists into Malaysia for the Visit Malaysia Year 2007," he said.
