Singapore-based low cost carrier Tiger Airways will offer flights between Singapore and the Western Australian city of Perth beginning in March, the airline announced in a news release on January 12.
The budget carrier said it will fly to Perth four times a week beginning March 23, with plans for daily service from November.
It is the first Asian budget carrier to link Asia with Perth, which is also Tiger's second Australian destination after Darwin, according to the news release.
Tiger Airways now flies from Singapore to destinations of six Asia-Pacific countries, including China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Australia.
Established in December 2003, Tiger Airways flew its first flight in September 2004. It is one of Asia-Pacific's fastest growing low cost airlines. It hit its two-million-passenger milestone in December last year.
Singapore Airlines owns 49 percent of its shares.
