Aug. 05, 2009
Eight people aboard a jet operated by Spanish airline Vueling were slightly hurt on Aug. 5 when one of its engines caught fire before it was due to take-off from the Orly airport near Paris, the airline said.
The plane was evacuated after the fire began on the Airbus A320's right engine at 10:36 a.m. (08:36GMT), as it taxied from the terminal, Vueling said in a communique.
It did not specify whether those hurt were passengers or crew. A replacement jet was due to continue the flight to Alicante in Spain, it said.
