Vueling Flight Delayed in Athens by Bomb Hoax
Aug. 06, 2009
A flight operated by Spanish airline Vueling was delayed in Athens on Aug. 6 after the airport received a hoax warning that a bomb was on board, the low-cost carrier said.
The Barcelona-bound plane was rescheduled to take-off at 21:00GMT, nearly eight hours after Athens airport authorities halted take-off procedures for the flight after realising they had a written bomb warning, Vueling said in a statement.
The hoax followed an incident on a Vueling flight on Aug. 5 when eight people were injured during an emergency evacuation from an aircraft after one of its engines caught fire on the ground in Paris.
