Kelly Aviation Center Earns Global Supply-Chain Standard
San Antonio Business Journal | Dec. 14, 2009
Kelly Aviation Center LP earned a new international aerospace certification that should allow the company to compete for more work in the global commercial aircraft engine market.
Kelly Aviation Center has received the AS9110 certification, making it one of a select group of organizations that have met this stringent global standard for safety, reliability and airworthiness.
The AS9110 certification goes beyond the basic AS9100 standard - which is the quality management system standard for the aerospace industry.
The certification is needed for Kelly Aviation Center to work as a supplier to military and commercial aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul companies that require the standard.
Kelly Aviation Center is an engine maintenance, repair and overhaul company that also provides engine testing and field service support.
The company is FAA and European Aviation Safety Agency certified to work on the CF6-50 engine.
The company is an affiliate of Bethesda, Md.-based Lockheed Martin Corp.
