American International Group's aircraft lessor, International Lease Finance Corp (ILFC), plans to suspend lease rental charges for aircraft used in flights for Haiti earthquake disaster relief, a spokesman said on Jan. 27.
ILFC will waive the rental charges for non-revenue flights retroactive from the date of the earthquake through the end of February for all its airline customers.
A 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti on Jan. 12, killing up to 200,000 people and devastating the capital city and other areas in ruins.
