Australia: Airline to Try Discount Fare Scheme
ABC News | Jan. 27, 2010
Skywest is to trial a discount fare system on its Perth to Albany route.
From Jan. 28, Albany residents will be able to register with the City of Albany online to get a discount of up to 24 per cent off the full fare on flights to and from Perth.
Skywest chief executive Mark Shelton says the discount can be used when cheaper advertised flights have sold out and will be available strictly to residents.
City of Albany chief executive Paul Richards says the scheme will be well received by ratepayers who often express concerns about the price of airfares to Perth.
