Light Plane with 8 People Aboard Disappears in Peru

A light plane with two crew members and six passengers disappeared on Jun. 10, the Peruvian Corporation of Airports and Commercial Aviation (Corpac) reported.
The plane, of a tourist company, took off at 7:15 a.m. local time (12:15GMT) to fly over the famous and enigmatic Nazca Lines, and it should have returned to the Marie Reiche Airport one hour later.
According to the Corpac, the alert has been issued and other planes have gone to look for the missing plane.
Meanwhile, sources of Nazca airport said the pilot did not make contact with the control tower to report a problem.
The zone where the plane was lost, is one of the main tourist attractions of the country, together with the Inca city of Machu Picchu.
On Feb. 25, a plane with seven people aboard crashed when it was flying over the Nazca Lines, there were no survivors.
Due to this accident, the civil aviation authorities prohibited the flights of light planes of more than 30 years old at Nazca airport and demanded each flight to have a pilot and co-pilot.
