SIA Engineering said its first quarter net profit has surged 57 per cent to S$70.8 million, in tandem with the recovery in the aviation industry.
Revenue over the period rose 18.1 per cent to S$288.3 million.
This came largely from turnover in its airframe maintenance and component overhaul work and fleet management programme.
Contributions from its associated and joint venture companies also increased 10.1 per cent to S$39.2 million.
Going forward, the company expects the growth of traffic at Changi Airport and the increased utilisation of aircraft by its customers to have a favourable impact on its maintenance, repair and overhaul business.
The group added that its joint ventures have also started to recover, although at a more gradual pace.
