GE Aviation Signs UPS to US$1 Billion Deal

GE Aviation inked a US$1 billion contract to provide maintenance, repair and engine overhaul services to package delivery company United Parcel Service Inc.
Under the 10-year agreement, GE will maintain 142 CF6-80C2 engines that power UPS's fleet of MD-11, Boeing 747-400 and 767-300 aircraft, according to a GE news release.
GE Aviation is headquartered in Evendale, where it employs more than 7,000 workers. It is a unit of Fairfield, Conn.-based General Electric Co.
