JetBlue Airways | Oct. 28, 2010
On Oct. 28, JetBlue Airways announces the appointment of Warren Christie to the position of Vice President, JetBlue University, effective immediately.
Mr. Christie previously served as Director of Technical Training responsible for Flight, Technical Operations and System Operations crew member training.
In his new role, Mr. Christie will lead the official learning organization for JetBlue, and will report to the value airline's Chief Operating Officer, Rob Maruster.
"Warren has demonstrated great leadership at JetBlue University since he joined the company in 2003," Mr. Maruster said. "His greatest contribution, however, has been his dedication to providing world-class education to the crew members of JetBlue Airways. His expertise, combined with his passion for serving JetBlue crew members, will serve us very well as we enter our second decade."
Mr. Christie is the airline's first Florida-based officer appointment, representing the airline's presence and dedication to the state. JetBlue currently operates the majority of its training at the Orlando Support Center, and more than 3,600 crew members call Florida home.
"It is an honor to serve JetBlue's crew members in this capacity," Mr. Christie said. "JetBlue's success is due in large part to a successful initial and recurrent training program, and my goal is to anticipate our crew members' needs and deliver an effective and world-class program for them."
