United Continental Holdings signed a multi-year agreement with Travelocity under which customers of its subsidiaries United Airlines and Continental Airlines will be able to access and purchase tickets through Travelocity's online booking sites.
"We are committed to being accessible to travelers who choose to do business through high-quality and efficient sales outlets," United SVP-Marketing Mark Bergsrud said. "This agreement with Travelocity ensures that our mutual customers will continue to have access to our fares and schedules."
UA and CO were both previously using the third-party site. "We're very pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with United and Continental," Travelocity SVP-Global Partner Services Noreen Henry said.
US Airways in January signed a full-content agreement with Expedia to offer content "through the global distribution model" while fellow legacy carrier American Airlines is embroiled in what Orbitz CEO Barney Harford dubbed a "broad attack on the distribution landscape". Sabre in January announced it would drop AA from its services in August. In an ongoing battle, AA added Sabre Holdings to a civil antitrust suit this June.
