Pilots on international Qantas flights began industrial action this morning in their campaign to stop jobs moving offshore.

The protest will take the form of an announcement to passengers broadcast over in-flight public address systems.

Pilots are calling for a "Qantas flight-Qantas pilot" clause in the new industrial agreement to lobby against Qantas sourcing pilots offshore.

The airline says it is disappointed the pilots are prepared to disturb passengers mid-flight.

The pilots have not ruled out other forms of industrial action.
