An Mi-8 helicopter with five people onboard crashed in east Russia on Monday, killing three and injuring the other two.
According to the the Far Eastern Crisis Management Center, the helicopter, owned by a local air carrier, was on an inspection flight of radio-navigation posts along the northern border of the Chukotka autonomous district.
One of the helicopter's engines failed when the helicopter was making a landing. The aircraft crashed into the ground and caught fire.
The fire was extinguished later. Police and representatives of the prosecutor's office were working at the scene of the accident, local reports said.
Earlier this month, another Mi-8 helicopter, owned by Russia's UTAir airline, crashed while ferrying oil workers to a drilling site in Russian Siberia, killing two and injuring 14 others.
