Strikes Loom Air France amid Vacation Season Surge

A strike by maintenance staff and pilots might affect the flights of Air France from Friday to Monday, the European carrier said on Thursday, warning passengers of possible cancellations during the weekend.
"We plan to ensure all of our flight program. However, delays are possible and we do not exclude some flight cancellations," the Air France management said in a statement posted on its website.
"Some flights may be carried out by chartered airlines," the airline group added, suggesting passengers to follow the updated information in real time.
Air France has just cut a deal last week with flight attendants who planned a four-day strike from July 29 to August 1. The European carrier had expected that all its flights this weekend would operate as scheduled.
The strikes came at the height of a vacation season, with each weekend since mid-July witnessing surges of domestic and foreign passengers.
On Air France's facebook page, one passenger posted complaint calling such "SYSTEMATIC strike during the holidays" an insulting attitude that "does not care about customers at all."
