Air New Zealand Planes Struck by Lightning
TVNZ | Aug. 14, 2011
Air New Zealand has confirmed that two of its 737s were struck by lightning in Wellington today.
The flights, both Wellington to Auckland, were cancelled.
Both planes are being inspected but are expected to be back in service tomorrow.
A number of other flights in Wellington have been delayed due to snow, sleet and hail but numbers are yet to be determined.
Air New Zealand says it is trying to reaccommodate passengers on other flights tonight and at this stage is unsure of what sort of backlog they could have.
