Qantas Flight, Chinese Made Ties

Qantas pilots don't want their jobs going offshore, but it seems they're not as fussy when it comes to their clothing.
The pilots plan to wear unofficial red ties with their normal uniform as part of a protest against the proposed Qantas restructure.
Ties with the words "Qantas flight, Qantas pilot" were mailed to all pilots late last week -- yet the novel neck-wear is clearly marked "Made in China".
As part of the protest, passengers on board all Qantas flights will also hear announcements stating that pilots want Australian jobs kept in Australia.
Qantas has outraged unions with its plan to retrench 1000 airline staff and set up a low-cost carrier in Japan, along with a possible premium Asian service.
Australian and International Pilots Association vice president Captain Richard Woodward was confident there would be a good reaction to the ties.
"The ties are a public display of how concerned Qantas pilots are about where the airline is headed," he said.
"We want to make sure passengers understand there are plans to replace Qantas pilots at the controls of Qantas flights with outsourced alternatives."
