Garuda Indonesia Inks Deal with Pos Indonesia
The Jakarta Post | Aug. 23, 2011
National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has agreed to cooperate with postal service provider PT Pos Indonesia on the distribution of the airline's tickets to support its flight expansion program.
According to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in Jakarta on Aug. 22, Garuda will open a counter at PT Pos' major offices to sell its tickets.
"Pos Indonesia has 3,800 offices across the country, 3,700 of which have online systems. We can benefit from these networks," Garuda's executive director Emirsyah Satar said.
After the signing of the MoU, Garuda officially inaugurated sales counters at seven branch offices of PT Pos in South Jakarta, East Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Solo, Bandung, Jambi, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Tanjungkarang. At each counter, Garuda customers can buy Garuda flight tickets and enjoy self-service facilities, including self and city check-in services.
"In the near future we want to add 10 counters, preferably in major cities," Emirsyah said.
