Chinese Airlines Cut Passenger Fuel Surcharges

A number of Chinese airlines have reduced the fuel surcharge on domestic flights following a drop in domestic jet fuel prices and oil purchase cost.
China Southern Airlines, Shandong Airlines and West Air have announced the extra charge for domestic routes longer than 800 kilometers was cut down to 140 yuan from 150 yuan per passenger effective Sep. 5, 2011.
Domestic airlines were informed by Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) that starting from Sep. 1, factory price of domestic oil is set at 7,610 yuan per ton, 115 yuan lower than the previous month, meanwhile, the purchase cost for domestic airliners to buy oil from China National Aviation Fuel is adjusted to 7670 yuan per ton, down from 7785 yuan in August.
