China Southern Airlines Company Limited will fly Beijng-Shanghai route with its first Airbus A380 for 3 days from October 27 to 29. The A380 flights have started to accept ticket booking on Sep. 6. An economy class air ticket costs 1070 yuan, 60 yuan cheaper than the most expensive economy class seats on other Beijng-Shanghai flights, according to the airline's website.
The A380 flight CZ6999 is scheduled to depart from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 3:00 p.m. and flies for 2.5 hours. A first class ticket costs 2830 yuan, economy class 1070 yuan.
Taking an A380 flight is very common for passengers travelling abroad frequently, but it is rare to use the A380 superjumbo on domestic routes linked Beijing and Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. China Southern Airlines' first Airbus A380 will start its inaugural flight on October 18, operating Beijing-Guangzhou service from October 18 to 26 and Beijing-Shanghai service from October 27 to 29, according to industry insiders.
China's first A380 is configured with 8 first class seats, 70 business class seats and 428 economy class seats, said the Guangzhou-based carrier. Currently, China Southern has ordered 5 A380s and is the only A380 operator in China.
