Cebu Pacific (CEB) was voted the third best budget airline in a poll conducted by online travel magazine Smart Travel Asia.
"Recognition from the online global travel community inspires us to continue doing what we do best: offer the lowest year-round fares, most extensive route network, and service with a smile," CEB vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog said, in a statement.
AirAsia/AirAsia X and Jetstar Asia ranked first and second Best Budget Airline in the 2011 Best in Travel Poll.
The website's survey was based on a 3-month poll of voters who took an average of 15.75 trips in the past year, with a household income of approximately US$150,000. Majority (60%) of the voters were from Asia-Pacific, followed by UK/Europe (20%) and North America (20%).
Cebu Pacific's ranking on the Best Budget Airline list moved up this year, from number 4 in 2010.
Other airlines in the Top 10 include SpiceJet, Kingfisher Red, IndiGo, Tiger Airways, Virgin Blue, Nok Air and Hong Kong Express, Jet Airways Konnect.
"Readers picked products from thousands of possible choices in Asia. Their vote is based on substantial hands-on travel experience, word-of-mouth at dinnertime chats, as well as an idea of the brand drawn from advertising and editorial exposure in the media, a great deal of this online," Smart Travel Asia said on its website.
Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific is encouraging people to expect "great deals" when they visit the airline's booth at the upcoming Philippine Travel Mart at the SMX Convention Center from September 2-4, 2011.
"Since we offer the lowest fares in all the markets we fly to, expect the best airfare deals at our booth," she said.
