Asiana Airlines Migrates to Amadeus Platform
Manila Bulletin | Oct. 18, 2011
Amadeus, a leading transaction processor and provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel and tourism industry, Tuesday announced that South Korea-based Asiana Airlines will be migrating to its Altea Customer Management Solution platform.
Amadeus Asia Pacific president David Brett said the decision of Asiana to use its platform would greatly improve the operations of the airline.
"We recognize Asiana's commitment to customer service excellence and are confident Altea will help the airline enhance its operational efficiency. It will enable them to have better integration with their partner airlines, offer superior customer service, and reduce operational cost," Brett said.
Asiana is a member of the Star Alliance that counts 27 of the top international airlines as its members and have a combined fleet of 4,023 aircraft while servicing 604 million passengers annually. Asiana is the seventeenth member of Star Alliance to migrate to the Amadeus platform.
The migration, to be completed in 2013, will allow Asiana to better manage its domestic and international reservations, inventory, and departure control operations.
Asiana executive vice president Kwang Hee Ryu said the Amadeus Altea platform meets all the demands in their operations.
"Altea offers an impressive range of functions that will allow us to enhance our passenger management processes and respond more efficiently to customer needs while also enabling closer integration with other Star Alliance members," Ryu said.
Asiana, with a fleet of 72 aircraft, flies daily to 22 countries, 68 cities and 87 routes.
