Qatar Airways has added Chongqing to its list of Chinese destinations.
Qatar Airways took its first flight to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport yesterday using an Airbus A330 with 36 Business Class seats and 248 Economy Class seats.
From Doha, Qatar Airways will fly every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to Chongqing, its fifth destination in China and 15th new route this year.
"Qatar Airways has been closely monitoring the dynamic Chinese market and looking at viable opportunities. We are extremely delighted to spread our award-winning services to our fifth Chinese gateway with our latest route," said Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al-Baker.
The new service takes Qatar Airways to flying 28 flights per week to China. The airline also flies to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Beijing.
The new destination is Qatar Airways' 110th global destination. Al-Baker said that Qatar Airways will continue to expand network in the next coming years.
