Dozens of baggage workers launched a strike at the Cairo International Airport on Sunday, but the flights have so far not been affected, a security source at the airport said.
The baggage handlers, who belong to a private company, called for official working contracts and a wage increase, the security official told Xinhua.
The protestors said they would continue their sit-in until their demands were met.
Meanwhile, tens of security personnel and coordinators in terminal 3 of the airport also began a strike to demand better salary, official MENA news agency reported Sunday.
Dozens of taxi drivers went on strike too, demanding licenses to carry passengers from the airport, the agency reported.
