With the increasing number of transfer passengers from home and abroad in Beijing, Hainan Airlines has invested 10 million yuan in building China's first dedicated transfer lounge at T1 terminal of Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), in order to offer better service for the carrier's transfer passengers. The lounge is expected to be put into use starting from May 1st.
Located on the second floor of T1 terminal at Beijing airport, Hainan Airlines' transfer lounge covers nearly 600 square meters, and is divided into a first-class lounge area and a public lounge area, with a capacity of 150 travelers.
The interior of the lounge is designed with an open style, spacious and bright. The clean and tidy lounge is equipped with large, soft and comfortable adjustable armchairs. Drinking water, hot water, tea, snacks, and vending machines are also available for travelers. Moreover, the advanced wireless network facilities enable travelers to conduct their business or enjoy themselves in the lounge.
The dynamic flight information display system in the lounge shows a real-time view of the flights for passengers. The professional service personnel of the carrier are ready to answer travelers' questions and to provide transfer service. Passengers can also enjoy free baggage ferry service between T1 and T2 if they carry too much baggage.
The independent first-class lounge area is quieter, which enables first-class passengers to release their fatigue in a peaceful atmosphere.
The lounge is prepared for those transfer passengers whose two connecting flights are both operated by Hainan Airlines. Moreover, passengers can use the lounge if their domestic transfer time is more than two hours, or international transfer time is less than six hours, according to the carrier's transfer service personnel. For international transfer passengers whose transfer time is more than six hours, Hainan Airlines will offer free hotel service.
The introduction of the transfer lounge marks Hainan Airlines has stepped forward into a new level in transfer service in Beijing and has become the first and only domestic airline to offer such service.
In March 2012, Hainan Airlines was again honored as SKYTRAX Five-Star Airline. "Hainan Airlines, Change Your Expectations" - Hainan Airlines is committed to creating a brand new flying experience for passengers.
