Boeing 737 Freighters for Northern Air Cargo
Air Cargo News | Feb. 21, 2007
Alaska-based Northern Air Cargo (NAC) will introduce three Boeing 737-200 freighters to its fleet on February 22, 2007. The aircraft will replace the company's ageing fleet of 727 aircraft.
The first of the three new aircraft will fly Bethel, Nome and Kotzebue routes. NAC will incorporate two more 737 cargo aircraft into its Alaskan domestic network by the end of May, completing its current fleet modernisation plan. However, it will continue to use Douglas DC-6 aircraft to provide charters.
"The introduction of the Boeing 737 to our current air cargo fleet represents the beginning of a new era for Northern Air Cargo and our customers," said Stephanie Holthaus, NAC's vice-president of cargo.
NAC performs logistics, air, ground and maintenance support for large and small industries including oil and gas, mining, construction and wild Alaska seafood.
