Shenyang Airport Re-opens After 48 Hour Shutdown in Blizzard

Since the night of March 3, when a blizzard hit northeast China, Shenyang Airport in Liaoning's capital of China has been closed for 48 hours.
It re-opened at 8:55am on March 6 when a China Southern Airlines flight took off, heading for Japan's Osaka.
The airport to re-open incoming flights after 2pm on March 6. Normal operations are expected to fully resume by later that day, according to Xinhua news agency.
In the past two days (March 4-5), the airport became an isolated "island," as all the expressways to the airport were closed.
About 1,000 passengers were stranded at the airport, which was covered by around one meter of snow.
