AirAsia Berhad | Apr. 12, 2007
Asia's leading and largest low cost airline, AirAsia is painting Chulia Street red with the opening of a new sales office in Penang. This is the airline's first of its sales offices to adopt a brand new look.
The AirAsia Sales Office will be difficult to miss as the front facade of the building is generously painted with the airline's signature red. The office encapsulates the vibrant personality of the young airline who is well known for its amazing cabin crew and friendly staff and it is also reflected in the interior decor fitted with sleek and chic counter tops. The new look will soon be adopted across all of the airline's sales offices nationwide including those located around the region. Famous amongst the locals for its food such as chicken rice etc., Chulia Street is also very popular amongst the foreign tourists due to its easy accessibility.
Kathleen Tan, Executive Vice President - Commercial, AirAsia Berhad, "The opening of this office is a response to the growth in domestic tourism which has necessitated more ticketing points within the country, even more so with Visit Malaysia Year. Penang is the only AirAsia destination to benefit from the passenger traffic coming from five of AirAsia's hubs including Low Cost Carrier Terminal in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Johor Bahru and Bangkok."
"We received many requests from guests to open a sales office here and when there was an opportunity, we grabbed it so that we can better cater to those who prefer face-to-face service. The opening of our latest office is a testament of our commitment in the northern region which has shown tremendous growth potential. We are tapping into Penang's progressive business prospects, dynamic local scene as well as a leisure destination."
