Qantas Achieves IOSA Registration
Qantas Airways Limited | May 04, 2007
On May 04, Qantas announced that it had successfully completed the International Air Transport Association's Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and achieved IOSA Registration.
The Executive General Manager of Qantas, Mr John Borghetti, said the internationally recognised IOSA programme was a global benchmark for airline safety and quality.
"It is the most stringent safety audit program in the industry, examining over 900 internationally harmonised standards and recommended practices covering assessment of both operational management and control systems," Mr Borghetti said.
"Our registration under the IOSA programme is an endorsement of Qantas' long held reputation for world class safety and operational excellence.
"Airlines that have been audited to full conformity with IOSA standards make a clear, positive statement about the integrity of their operations.
"Compliance with IOSA standards builds on Qantas' rigorous safety policies and procedures, which are the bedrock of the airline's outstanding safety record."
