Venezuela Names Three Airports for Copa America Tournament

On May 22, Venezuela's Infrastructure Ministry unveiled plans to upgrade three airports for use as international airports for the Copa America tournament between June 15 and July 25.
Juan Pablo Perez Alfonso Airport in Barinas state, El Vigia Aiport in Merida State and Jose Tadeo Monagas Airport in Monagas state will be equipped for temporary use as international airports.
This aims to give a better welcome to the region's best teams. The airports will be equipped to deliver customs, immigration, police and health services.
The nine sites for the Copa America tournament, the world's oldest soccer competition, are: Caracas, Maracaibo, Barinas, Merida, San Cristobal, Barquisimeto, Puerto La Cruz, Maturin and Puerto Ordaz.
