May 21, 2007
Grob Aerospace has selected Honeywell to supply the cabin management and entertainment system for the spn, the industry's first all composite light business jet. Honeywell's C Management System (CMS) was chosen because it offers an exceptional passenger experience based on proven technology.
The C Series Cabin Management System has accumulated an outstanding track record on numerous aircraft and gained a reputation for exceptional reliability. It also has the important advantages of being light weight and space efficient as well being customer friendly, easy to use and maintain.
The C Series cabin system will provide full control of all cabin, galley, and lavatory functions, as well as the latest entertainment features. The system offers spn customers as options the highest quality DVD/CD players, individual switch panels, XM satellite radio system, MP3 connection and high resolution LCDs, which transform the spn cabin into a theatre in the sky. The spn customers will have the option of a 10.4 inch master cabin monitor mounted on the right hand forward bulkhead or individual 8.4 inch "hot plug" monitors for each passenger with individual control panels with headphone jacks and up to four full range cabin speakers.
Grob has also selected Honeywell's new JetMap II moving map and information system. The JetMap II offers high resolution worldwide maps, safety briefings, custom logos and live news, weather, business and sports content. The optional Iridium Satcom receiver allows the JetMap II to upload this news content anywhere in the world without ever tying up the external voice channels on other communication devices.
"The spn was designed to combine outstanding performance with the passenger comfort of a state-of-the-art business jet and the Honeywell cabin entertainment system is a key component in providing a superb passenger experience", said Grob Aerospace CEO Niall Olver.
"Honeywell's proven Cabin Management and Entertainment system for the spn aircraft provides reliable service and capable of future growth," said John Todd, Vice President, Business and General Aviation Customer Segment, Honeywell Aerospace. "Grob will be able to use a high performance system from a basic level through advanced options that offer a wide range of choices to enhance and improve in flight productivity on board the spn."
