London 2012: Pictures from Heathrow as Athletes Arrive
Athletes from more than 50 countries have been arriving at Heathrow Airport in London to be greeted by a sea of volunteers ready to steer them on their way. Officials have spent seven years planning for today, the busiest day in the airport's history with 236,955 passengers passing through. The busiest day for arriving athletes is expected to be July 24 when 1,262 athletes and coaches are expected.
