On July 12, SKYTRAX, a famous aviation evaluation consultancy in the aviation industry, presented multiple awards at the Farnborough International Airshow, one of the largest airshows in the world. Hainan Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines from mainland China won four awards in all.
Farnborough International Airshow which is held once every two years is the second largest airshow except for the Paris Airshow in the world. More than 40 airlines from around the globe participated in the airshow. Among the awards to the Chinese aviation industry presented by SKYTRAX this year, Shenzhen Airlines and China Eastern Airlines won the "Best Regional Airline in China" and the "World's Most Improved Airline" respectively. And the Hainan Airlines won both the "Best Airline in China" and "Best Airline Staff Service in China" awards which are under the spotlight, marking the fourth time that the airline has won the two awards after it received them in 2008, 2010 and 2011.
Edward Plaisted, Chairman of SKYTRAX, took part in all activities entirely and presented the awards to the winning airlines. "A general view of the development of the whole China aviation industry reveals that most Chinese airlines including both small airlines like Shenzhen Airlines and big ones like Hainan Airlines have made remarkable progress in recent years. The entire Chinese aviation industry has been growing tremendously in the recent two years. The primary evaluation criterion of this award is and has always been the power of quality control. When airlines are developing at a fast speed, like the developing speed that many Chinese airlines enjoy at present, it is always not an easy task to carry out to guarantee the quality," Edward Plaisted pointed out when asked about the influence that the China aviation industry can wield on the world.
"It can be said that the Chinese aviation industry developed fastest in the past several years. Domestic airlines have made dramatic progress in services. But we find out that there are still clear and certain disparities in some areas between us and the world's most excellent airlines. For example, there are still no Chinese airlines in the list of the 'World's Best Airline'. This means that there are still further space for us to improve in terms of industry structures, operation scope, service details and procedures," Hainan Airlines' vice president Yu Wenyong said when interviewed.
It is known that SKYTRAX is an independent and most publicly trusted and authoritative institute for aviation transportation researching and evaluating. SKYTRAX selects the most excellent airlines around the world by conducting passenger surveys.
