China has become the fastest growing corporate aircraft market as the economy booms.
During the periods of 2002-2006 and 2007-2011, Hawker Beechcraft Corporation's corporate aircraft orders from China increased by 394%, growing from 16 to 79. Now there are about 163 registered corporate aircraft in China, sharing 18% of the number of corporate aircraft in Asia.
Sean McGeough, president of Hawker Beechcraft Corporation Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa, says the company has already sold 15 corporate aircraft to Asian clients in the previous 7 months of this year, among which 4 aircraft were purchased by Civil Aviation University of China and Xinjiang Tian Xiang Aviation College for pilot training.
China's demand for corporate aircraft is huge. "In recent 5 years, Airbus has sold more than 20 corporate aircraft to China, 4 aircraft per year in average", says Fang Shuhua, vice president of the corporate and private jet department of Airbus, "It counts a quarter in the Airbus corporate jet's global sales volume." Airbus is going to sell around 30 corporate aircraft to China between 2011 and 2015. China has become the largest corporate aircraft market for Airbus.
Airbus believes that the development of China's economy is a premise for the development of corporate aircraft. The market for corporate aircraft is very promising in the future. Embraer holds the same opinion with Airbus when it comes to the corporate aircraft market in China.
Embraer estimates that the global sale volume of corporate aircraft is going to exceed 11,275 during 2012-2021. The entire revenue is expected to reach US$260 billion. China being one of the most promising markets will absorb 635 corporate aircraft in the next decade.
Industry insiders claim that large corporate aircraft are the favorites of Chinese buyers. It is probably because their fortune is fast-growing too.
