Li Jiaxiang: Specialized Airports for Business Jets to Be Built Around Beijing, Shanghai

On Sep. 4, Li Jiaxiang, chief of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) told reporters at the 2012 Beijing International Business Aviation Show that the CAAC will unveil fresh policy to promote the development of the business aviation sector, including building specialized airports for business jets. The details of the project are being developed.
The 2012 Beijing International Business Aviation Show opened in Beijing on Sep. 4. Nearly 80 aviation enterprises with businesses ranging from aircraft built-in design, MRO to aviation training and aircraft services took part in the show. They come from various countries including China, France, U.S. and Switzerland.
"China's business aviation sector has experienced the fastest development among the global business aviation market. Currently, China is intensifying efforts to restructure civil aviation industry, while the development of business aviation sector is regarded as linchpin of the whole structural shift. We hope this Show will boost the adjustment and the crucial sector." said Li Jiaxiang.
Li Jiaxiang said that compared with common passenger & cargo transport aviation, business aviation needs to be more convenient, faster and more fluent. With regards to policy support, he further disclosed that the CAAC will launch a series of regulations to encourage the development of the sector, like building specialized airports for business jets around some large cities including Beijing and Shanghai.
In terms of the project details, Li Jiaxiang unveiled that the pilot reform on low-altitude airspace has been under way to satisfy Chinese aviation industry's demand for multilevel development.
