China Aviation IT Forum 2012, jointly organized by SITA and IATA (International Air Transport Association), took place from December 6th-7th, 2012 in Hangzhou at the JW Marriott Hotel. CARNOC.com, the largest civil aviation website in China, made a live broadcast of the forum on its official Sina Weibo account, which was the first time for SITA's conference to be broadcast on social media.
The theme of this industry forum is "Intelligent Air Travel - Shaping the Future Together." On Dec. 6, a host of top level industry speakers from SITA and China aviation industry addressed delegates on business critical issues and solutions that will help stakeholders support the fast-growing China aviation market, while discussing transformational technologies for the future development of airlines and airports and sharing proven measures for enhancing the passengers' travel experience.
On Dec. 7, IATA conducted a half-day workshop to promote Fast Travel and Passenger Facilitation programs. During the workshop, IATA experts covered all aspects of the programs with a special focus on how to implement these initiatives and concentrating on local constraints within China.
SITA, the world's leading specialist in air transport communications and information technology (IT), is an important partner of Chinese airlines and airports. China Aviation IT Forum 2012 was the first such kind of forum held in China and organized by SITA.
As the media partner of this activity, CARNOC.com made a special report for the forum on its website, as well as a live broadcast on its official Sina Weibo account - like Twitter. It was in fact the first time for SITA's conference to be broadcast on social media, which has achieved a big success. Some aviation IT professionals said through CARNOC.com's live broadcast on Sina Weibo, they could immediately know what was being discussed at the forum though they were not there, which offered a great opportunity for them to share the experience and opinions of world's leading specialists in aviation IT.
Ilya Gutlin, SITA President, Asia Pacific, said at the forum, through SITA's survey, more and more passengers choose to check their flight update information through social media. More and more airlines, airports and third-party service provider have increased their investment in social media and APP.
