Final assembly of the fifth and sixth ARJ21 regional jet is now underway at the final assembly line of Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China, Ltd. (COMAC).
On Feb. 16, the first working day after the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, COMAC has started the final assembly of the fifth ARJ21 aircraft (serial number 105) and the sixth ARJ21 aircraft (serial number 106).
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued the Type Inspection Authorization (TIA) for the ARJ21-700 aircraft in 2012. Since then, the regional jet has entered into the CAAC certification flight test phase. It is learned that the ARJ21-700 jet has completed all the ground tests.
The fifth and sixth ARJ21 aircraft are scheduled to complete final assembly within this year.
