Bahrain's Gulf Air has been named as the international airline with the world's second-best record for on-time arrivals during March, according to a report.
Information services firm FlightStat's latest monthly On-time Airline/Airport Performance report found that 92.11 percent of Gulf Air's flights were delivered to their arrival gate within 15 minutes of their scheduled time.
The carrier, which is currently in the midst of a major restructuring process that has seen it trim routes and jobs, was only bested by South African Airlines, which scored 92.26 percent when it came to on-time arrivals.
Other entries in the top ten included Singapore Airlines, British no-frills operator easyJet and Japan Airlines.
The global average for on-time arrivals during the month, according to FlightStats, was 78.76 percent, up slightly from February's 77.64 percent. Cancellations across the top ten airlines were at 1.35 percent of all flights, down from 1.57 percent the prior month.
The monthly report also ranked the world's international airports when it came to timely performance. Tokyo Haneda secured number one spot in this regard, achieving 92 percent of its departures on-time, followed by Seattle, Charlotte and then Singapore.
