Hainan Qionghai Boao Airport Master Plan Gets Approval

Recently, Central and Southern Regional Administration of CAAC and the government of Qionghai City, Hainan have jointed issued the "Approval for the Master Plan of Hainan Qionghai Boao Airport", which means Qionghai Boao Airport has officially entered the construction stage.
Qionghai Boao Airport is positioned as a small (regional) airport, and its main services include regional traveling, business activities and providing air transportation support of politicians from home and aboard who attend Boao Forum for Asia.
The approved master plan outlines the short-term objectives of Qionghai Boao Airport to handle 480,000 passengers, 1,440 tonnes of cargo and mail and 4,923 aircraft movements by the year 2020 as a 4C-class airport, as well as its long-term objectives to handle 3.5 million passengers, 26,000 tonnes of cargo and mail, and 34,526 aircraft movements by the year 2040, when it will become a 4D-class airport.
The master plan is the programmatic document for the construction and development of Qionghai Boao Airport, which clarifies the mission of the airport in every development stage. The approval of the master plan lays a foundation for the acceleration of the construction process of Qionghai Boao Airport.
