Qantas Unveils New Business Class Suites for Its A330 Aircraft
By Kate Schneider, News.com.au | Aug. 29, 2013

Qantas has unveiled the new lie flat seats that will be rolled out across its Airbus A330 business class sections from next year.

The airline, which today announced a AU$5 million profit, said the new Marc Newson-designed business suites will be available on both its international and domestic fleet of A330s.

The fully flat beds will allow direct aisle access from every seat.

There will also be new economy class seats for 10 Qantas International A330-300s, and 20 planes will feature refurbished economy class seats.

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said the upgrade would set the airline's product apart from competitors where its A330s do the bulk of their flying - on key Asian routes and on the domestic east-west market.

"Customers in all parts of the aircraft will notice a significant improvement in comfort when our refreshed A330s start to roll out from the end of 2014," Mr Joyce said.

"We've created a product that has enough space to dine while working, or if you want to rest, to leave the seat in a recline position from takeoff to landing."
