Dragonair has been appointed as the Official Carrier for the "Pride of China: Masterpieces of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy of the Jin, Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties from the Palace Museum" exhibition, taking on the role of transporting world-acclaimed masterpieces of Chinese art from Beijing to Hong Kong. The exhibition is being organised as part of the celebrations to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It will be opened to public starting from June 29.

A total of 32 acclaimed paintings and calligraphies dating from the Jin, Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties that will go on display at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. The exhibition, jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Palace Museum, is an unprecedented event in Hong Kong and will run in two phases, from June 29 to July 22 and from July 23 to August 11.

"It is a privilege to be given the responsibility for the carriage of these priceless historical works of art," says Dragonair Chief Executive Officer Kenny Tang. "We took great care to put proper procedures in place to ensure the people of Hong Kong could enjoy these national treasures as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations."

As a Hong Kong-based airline, Dragonair is committed to providing its full support for anniversary activities. As well as carrying the artworks from Beijing, the airline is sponsoring air tickets for VIP guests and staff from the Palace Museum who will look after the artworks during their stay in Hong Kong. Dragonair has also placed the official 10th anniversary logo on three of its A330 aircraft to mark the celebration.
