Dragonair Named 'Best Airline - China' for Sixth Consecutive Year
Jul. 31, 2007
Dragonair has been voted "Best Airline - China" in the 2006/7 World Airline Survey conducted by Skytrax - the sixth consecutive year for the carrier to win the award. The latest survey was conducted between August 2006 and June 2007 and measured some 35 aspects of passenger satisfaction. More than 14 million travellers cast a vote, making the Skytrax survey the biggest of its kind in the world.
"It is a great honour for the airline to receive this accolade for the sixth year in a row. The Skytrax survey is recognised around the world and our continued high ranking is recognition of the quality of service we provide to our passengers," said Dragonair Chief Executive Officer Kenny Tang.
"On behalf of everyone at Dragonair I would like to thank all those travellers who voted for us. And, of course, credit must also go to our staff for working to provide the very best service."
Dragonair has long been regarded as the expert in connecting the world with Mainland China. The airline flies to 21 Mainland cities, more than any other non-Mainland airline, and operates more than 400 flights a week to the Mainland from its Hong Kong hub.
Mr. Tang continued: "Since Dragonair became part of the Cathay Pacific Group last year we have been able to draw on Cathay Pacific's extensive worldwide network to bring even more passengers through Hong Kong to Mainland China. At the same time, passengers can now enjoy greater flexibility and more choice when connecting between the two airlines.
"We remain committed to providing the best possible travel experience for our customers. The recognition received in the Skytrax survey will encourage us to aim for even greater heights in providing the kind of service that makes Dragonair the airline of choice to Mainland China."
Dragonair is a Hong Kong-based airline operating a fleet of 31 passenger aircraft and six freighters serving 31 regional destinations, including 21 cities in Mainland China. Dragonair is part of the Cathay Pacific Group, providing seamless connectivity for passengers to more than 100 cities around the globe.
