Boeing Increases Forecast for Aircraft Demand in India
Jul. 31, 2007
On July 30, Boeing told reporters in New Delhi that it has boosted its forecast for aircraft demand in the fast-growing Indian market, projecting that the country's airlines will order 911 passenger aircraft valued at US$86 billion over the next 20 years.
Last year the manufacturer pegged demand in the market at 856 aircraft valued at US$72 billion over the next two decades. It said the higher demand is owing to the rise of private airlines in India. About 75% of the demand will be for single-aisle aircraft, it said.
