On August 22, at least 15 people were injured when their plane made an emergency landing at an airport in southwestern Colombia, the Civil Aviation Authority said.
The accident occurred at the Antonio Narino airport in Chachaqui, a town in the southwestern province of Narino.
The plane's pilot, co-pilot and their assistant, who were in very serious conditions, were rushed to a hospital in Pasto, capital of Narino.
The Russia-made AN-26 plane, with 53 people on board, including the three crew members, experienced a failure in one of its engines when it requested an emergency landing.
The plane landed on the airport's No. 2 runway, but lost control and smashed into a sports center.
Authorities have set up a committee to investigate the accident.
