Fire at Trudeau Airport Causes Emergency Exit
CBC News | Nov. 04, 2013
Hundreds of passengers and crew of a plane sitting on the tarmac at Montreal's Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport had to make an emergency exit from their plane late Monday afternoon after a fire broke out.
The fire occurred on a luggage-belt loader vehicle that was near the Air Maroc aircraft.
The plane, which had just landed from Casablanca, had about 250 passengers and eight crew members on board.
Everyone left the plane, most using the chutes for the evacuation.
Urgences-Santé says paramedics had to treat seven people - five were transported to hospital for smoke inhalation or minor injuries to their lower bodies.
